Welcome to my Freedom With Writing review!
As a writer, I like to occasionally check out new ways for freelance writers to make money online. One opportunity I recently stumbled upon is Freelance With Writing — a site catered to, you guessed it, freelance writers. I was immediately drawn to its minimalistic look and lack of bold claims so typical of many make money online opportunities. But is Freedom With Writing a scam despite my initial impressions? Keep reading to find out!
FREEDOM WITH WRITING SUMMARY
Summary: Freedom With Writing is essentially a free job listings website that acts as a middleman — they don't offer any direct work through their own brand. Instead, they pull in listings from the web and bring them to your attention through their site, blog articles, and email mailing list.
The site caters to entry-level writers with decent writing skills, but freelance writers with experience can also find potential leads. While they offer higher paying jobs occasionally, the competition is fierce for these positions.
Ultimately, the site can serve as a good launching pad until you start to pull in your own clients to work directly with and command more money. That said, there are better ways to make money with your writing skills than freelance writing (more on that at the end of the review).
WHAT IS FREEDOM WITH WRITING?
Freedom With Writing is a free website that pulls in freelance writing job listings from around the internet. Users of the site can also sign up to get job listings and other information by email.
The listings themselves aren't limited to blog articles or even online sites. Instead, Freedom With Writing opens the door to other possible work as well, including literary journals, magazines, and publishers looking for new authors.
Dreaming of publishing your own book? Freedom With Writing can help you with that too. Tips on manuscript submission and pitching magazines are also included. Those that subscribe to the mailing list also get a chance to check out free eBooks on different topics.
All in all, not bad for a site that doesn't charge for access.
HOW DOES FREEDOM WITH WRITING WORK?
While the site provides plenty of job leads and other pertinent information, the best way to experience everything Freedom With Writing offers is to sign up to the free mailing list, which you can find posted throughout the site. That's where a lot of free information gets sent out that doesn't always appear on the website itself.
If you see a job listing you're interested in, Freedom With Writing offers details on how to contact the actual source for the position. Keep in mind these projects primarily involve remote work, and you'll have to compete against other freelancers that might have heard about these job listings elsewhere (in other words, they're not unique listings).
CAN YOU REALLY MAKE MONEY WITH FREEDOM WITH WRITING?
While the site itself doesn't hire writers, the job leads offered by Freedom With Writing can make you money if you follow all the steps to sending out your information.
The more experience you have as a writer, the further the job leads will take you. Now, that doesn't mean complete beginners can't make money. You just have to put in more effort upfront to show a potential job lead you have the communication skills to get the project completed.
So, how much can you really make? Well, that depends on the project, the amount the client or outlet is willing to pay, and your level of experience.
A basic article may only pay $25, but if you're a beginner and the client is willing to include your name, it could lead to more work in the future. That said, most of the leads listed on the site start paying at $50+ per article and some even as high as $100+.
So even if you only wrote three articles per week, you could have at least $600 per month in potential writing work. Now, that's not a full-time income, but you could always increase your earnings from there by continuing to grow your network of clients over time.
That's where you'll rake in the most cash, and have less competition than all the over-published job leads. Writing every day will also help further develop your skills and increase the odds of landing more jobs. The more you write, the more your writing will continue to improve!

SO, NOW WHAT?
Overall, if you keep your expectations in line, Freedom With Writing is a good resource. No, it won't shower you with all the riches in the world, nor will it do the work for you. But for those interested in starting a freelance writing career, Freedom With Writing is a decent site to begin with when searching for relevant job leads.
But is it the best?...
No, not by a long shot. If you're serious about becoming a successful freelance writer on your own terms, I'd definitely check out Writeto1K — a proven freelance writing course that teaches you all you need to know to get your freelance writing career off the ground without having to resort to low-paying jobs. Note the price of this course is steep and thus only intended for serious writers!
But here's the thing...
Trading hours for dollars on the writer treadmill eventually causes many freelance writers to burn out. [source] Yep, that's the unfortunate truth. So, wouldn't you rather create a legitimate passive income stream instead, one that frees you from constant feast or famine mode — the plague of all freelancers?
You can put all your writing talents to better use through a combination of blogging and affiliate marketing — the process of promoting a company's products and services in exchange for commissions.
It's what I do and it's what allowed me to create a 4-figure passive income stream, month in and month out. Moreover, this business model helps you to create assets for yourself — websites that can later be sold for gobs of money once they're profitable. You definitely can't say that about freelance writing, that's for sure! Wanna see if affiliate marketing is right for you?...
