Being a man going your own way isn't always the easiest path. Given the poor state of the world economy and the dominance by women in many career fields, finding a high-paying job where you can exercise your freedom to be a man can be difficult. That said, there are still many jobs where you can earn a large salary and not have to worry about political correctness or being undercut by outsourcing or illegal immigration. In this article, we'll dive into some of the best jobs for MGTOW, but first, let's start with some basics on being a MGTOW in today's working world...
WHAT IS MGTOW?
MGTOW, short for Men Going Their Own Way, is a philosophy that emphasizes masculine freedom above all else.
Developed in response to feminism's increasing encroachment on all spheres of life, as well as the impotence of anti-feminist political movements such as the Men's Rights Movement, MGTOW is centrally about liberty. More specifically, men choosing to live their lives as they see fit, instead of expecting to conform to feminist standards of thought and behavior.
A man going his own way lives life on his own terms and no one else's. While each man must choose his own path, the one principle that unites them all is: "What's best for me?"...
He doesn't slave away at a pointless job because society tells him to, he doesn't get married because anyone demands that he tie the knot, and he doesn't obey rules designed to keep him down.
In short, he lives for himself and not for his girlfriend, parents, or anyone else. As MGTOW YouTube personality Bernard Chapin put it, "I'm going my own way, because whose other way would I be going?"

WHY THE MODERN WORKPLACE IS THE ENEMY OF MGTOW
It's precisely because MGTOW places male freedom at the center of its precepts that it's a poor fit for most jobs and career fields. Employment in the U.S. and most Western countries has become dominated by feminism and political correctness, turning the average workplace into a zone where masculinity is de facto banned.
There are a couple of major reasons why the average career isn't for you as a man going your own way:
Enforcement of Conformity
HR departments, sensitivity training seminars, and PC speech codes mean that if you express any opinion that doesn't tow the feminist or leftist line, you run the risk of being fired. It only takes ONE complaint from a female colleague falsely accusing you of "harassment" for your career to hit a brick wall.
To make matters worse, thanks to social media and the witch-hunting culture that pervades major websites like Buzzfeed, you can easily find yourself blackballed out of your career field entirely if a feminist typist deems your online presence to be "racist," "sexist," "transphobic" or a million other "isms" or "phobias."
Just ask Pax Dickinson, former CTO of Business Insider, who found himself jobless and blacklisted from his industry in 2013 after Gawker went after him for his satirical comments on Twitter, despite the fact that he was an exemplary employee.
Dull and Repetitive
Even if you can successfully navigate the ever-changing morass of PC speech codes, your job will likely be boring, uninspiring, and offer you no freedom whatsoever. A typical cubicle job is one where innovation is actively stymied and going out of your way to excel will result in you being punished.
A man craves adventure, excitement, and meaning in his craft, and a job where you do data entry for eight hours a day in a sterile office is a recipe for ennui and depression.
HOW TO IDENTIFY THE BEST AND WORST JOBS FOR MGTOW
The good news is that there are many lucrative careers where MGTOW can't only survive, but thrive. But how can a man going his own way identify a field best for him? The answer lies in off the beaten path and oftentimes the complete opposite of what society expects men to do for a living.
Ideally, a MGTOW will want a career that affords him maximum freedom and accomplishment.
He should have clearly defined tasks and goals and given a wide latitude with which to fulfill them. He should be able to do his daily tasks with a minimum of oversight and interference, allowing him to accomplish them through his own ingenuity and/or strength.
Conversely, a bad job for a MGTOW is one that consigns him to repetitive, meaningless tasks and/or saddles him with inept management insistent on controlling his every thought and action.
Ideal career paths for MGTOWs are also those that have few women working in them. Where women go, political correctness, feminism, and drama follow.
A MGTOW doesn't want to have to dedicate mental energy to obeying bizarre sensitivity mandates or dealing with female inanity: he should either work alone or with a team of men who are able to put aside their feelings to get the job done.
In other words, the number of women involved in a job or career path is inversely correlated with how well a MGTOW will be able to perform it.
TOP TIPS TO HELP MGTOW GET THROUGH THE WORKDAY
Despite all this, it's not always possible for a MGTOW to get his dream job. Some MGTOWs will have to suffer through soul-draining jobs where they have to hide their true feelings and thoughts from the people around them. There are a few ways to help cope with these kinds of situations...
Have a Mission
This refers to having some sort of goal, skill, or hobby you have outside of your job, one that requires you to hone your talents and abilities. Sailing, playing chess, working out at the gym, or learning a foreign language are all examples of missions you can adopt.
Having a goal outside of your job will keep you focused and give you something to look forward to. And depending on what you choose, it can even provide a path to escape your current predicament.
Always Have a Side Hustle
Being 100% dependent on your job is never a good thing, particularly in our volatile economy, so develop a side means by which you can earn money. Even something as simple as affiliate marketing on a blog you write for fun can provide some income, and you can also turn side hustles into main jobs if you put in the money and effort.
Maintain Your Physical and Mental Well-Being
It's easy to get lazy and give up on life when you hate your job, so fight it by eating right, keeping your body in good shape, getting enough sleep, and cultivating your mind by reading good books. If you put in just a little effort when it comes to your body and mind, you'll find it easy to stand head and shoulders above most people, who are content to let themselves go.
3 WORST JOBS FOR MGTOW
While the general principles mentioned earlier are a good guide to identify bad careers for MGTOWs, here are some specific examples of jobs that MGTOWs should avoid, if possible:
Any environment that involves working in an office is a very bad option for MGTOWs, which includes most corporate jobs. These positions are the most heavily dominated by women, and as such are heavily permeated with social justice and feminist dogma.
Assuming you can untie the Gordian knot of PC platitudes that govern office work these days, your reward for it will be mind-numbing drudgery in which you sit in front of a computer most of the day or work with equally bored and depressed colleagues.
Simply put, office work will kill a MGTOW's soul.
Education is an extremely poor option for MGTOWs due, once again, to the excessive presence of women. Both grade school and college education are dominated by left-wing, feminist ideologues, and even if you enjoy working with and educating young people, you'll constantly have to deal with the speech police.
Moreover, in the case of college teaching, it's almost impossible to get a full-time, tenured position due to a glut of professors who already have it, meaning you'll be stuck working as an adjunct professor and making peanuts.
Finally, MGTOWs should avoid the civil service not only due to the excessive presence of women and political correctness, but the repetitive and bland nature of the work.
While civil service jobs pay more than private sector ones in some areas of the U.S., there are excessively dominated by middle-aged, childless women who subscribe to the worst brands of social justice ideology.
To make matters worse, there's often not enough work to do at these jobs, with many employees loafing around on social media to lessen the boredom of their days.
4 BEST JOBS FOR MGTOW
Now that we've identified some of the worst jobs for men going their own way, let's take a look at some of the best...
The trades remain quite possibly the easiest and most lucrative career path for any MGTOW. Working as an electrician, plumber, welder, or any other skilled trade requires a minimum of time and money invested combined with high salaries and plenty of job opportunities. And due to a relative absence of women in the trades, there's very little in way of political correctness and other nonsense that plagues most mainstream career fields.
Let's take a closer look at what makes this career a good choice as well as a few downsides...
Pros of Being a Tradesman
Cons of Being a Tradesman
Before making a decision, research job listings and union halls in your local area to see what jobs are available, what they pay, and how you can get involved.
But for men who love the idea of making a lot of money doing physically demanding work free of feminist thought policing, the trades are an ideal career choice.
Oil Rig Work
Working on an oil rig — or even working a regular job in an oil boomtown — is one of the fastest ways to make decent money. Oil rig workers, also known as roustabouts or roughnecks, usually make more than $50,000 a year with little experience.
During the hydrofracking boom of the early 2010's, oil boomtowns such as Williston, North Dakota and Sidney, Montana became famous for their well-paid roughneck jobs and the hordes of men who traveled across the country to take them. While Williston is no longer the boomtown it once was, continued exploitation of oil deposits in the U.S. and Canada means there will always be jobs available for those interested.
Working on an oil rig carries with it many of the same advantages and drawbacks of being a tradesman…
Pros of Being an Oil Rig Worker
Cons of Being an Oil Rig Worker
Keep in mind that due to the fluctuating nature of where oil is extracted, working as a roustabout will almost certainly require you to relocate. Not all oil towns pay the same rates, so do your research before making any big moves.
Due to the low cost of living and general lack of labor in boomtowns, it's also possible to live well working service jobs if you can't find oil work right away. For example, during the height of the North Dakota oil boom, the Williston Walmart paid its employees $21 an hour during the holiday shopping season and even provided them with free hotel rooms.
In short, there are several ways for MGTOWs to earn money in oil towns, provided you have the hustle and skill to make things happen.
If you're a MGTOW with an aptitude for writing, you've probably thought about freelance writing as a means to make a living. Problem is, many freelance writers in Western countries have been undercut by people in third-world, English-speaking countries such as India and the Philippines, who charge far less for the same types of work.
Still, there's one form of freelance writing that not only pays well, but has a high level of job security: academic ghostwriting.
Writing academic papers for lazy and unscrupulous students has become a major business in the past decade, after professional ghostwriter Dave Tomar wrote an article for The Chronicle of Higher Education detailing how he made a living doing it.
Ghostwriters write college papers on just about every subject, from English to ethnic studies to accounting to history, and you can even write math and science papers if you have the knowledge. While college enrollment has declined in recent years, the demand for ghostwritten papers has only increased and will continue for some time to come.
Let's take a closer look at some of the perks and disadvantages of this job...
Pros of Being an Academic Ghostwriter
Cons of Being an Academic Ghostwriter
Overall, the pros outweigh the cons so if you have the ability to conduct light research and write tons of words on a tight deadline, academic ghostwriting is one of the easiest ways to make decent money, all from the comfort of your home.
Another great way to earn a living online is through affiliate marketing, whereupon you make money by recommending a company's products and services in exchange for a finder's fee. There are literally thousands of affiliate programs to choose from, starting with powerhouses like Amazon to smaller-sized companies like Zappos.
The most direct path to becoming a successful affiliate marketer is by promoting products you already use and take interest in. For example, if you're into bodybuilding, you can earn commission by creating a website reviewing and promoting weightlifting products. If you're into coffee, you can promote and sell coffee brands and machines.
Let's see how this business model stacks up...
Pros of Being an Affiliate Marketer
Cons of Being an Affiliate Marketer
Despite the cons, affiliate marketing is still overwhelmingly a great business model and as a MGTOW, it just might be the "out" you're looking for.
Personally speaking, this is the route I decided to take and I'm happy to say it's paid off. 🙂 Now that I know what I know, I'd love the opportunity to teach YOU how to become a successful affiliate marketer. Are you ready to chart a new path?
